Abstract EN

This study is concerned with the issue of chronicling the Arabic literature in accordance with Culture Theory.

The purpose of this study is to overcome the issues of associating the history of Arabic literature to political history, as it was linked in the recipient's mind the division of Arabic literature into political epochs related to the ruling families in terms of progress and collapse until this kind of periodization became prevalent in most literature history books.

However, the chronicling of literature in accordance with cultural epochs is one of the approaches worthy of research and study despite the lack of attention to it.

Therefore, the philosophical premises of this theory will be discussed as well as theoretical foundations of the cultural theory.

Further, the presence of the theory in the history of Arabic literature is investigated, the mechanisms for its application by the chroniclers of the Arabic literature, whether they are orientalist or Arab, and the obstacles that hampered the attempts to apply this theory in chronicling our Arabic literature.
