Abstract EN

Civil defense services are among the services of great importance as they are related to the lives and interests of community members.

The provision of these services with sufficient efficiency and high efficiency gives the individual a sense of reassurance and satisfaction with the quality of life he lives.

From here, the idea of researching the ways of the reality of civil defense services in the cities of Al-Rumaitha and Al-Khader, as they are among the important urban centers in Al-Muthanna Governorate, and focused on addressing the problems that these services suffer from, with the aim of achieving higher efficiency, quantitative, qualitative and spatial efficiency.

The research dealt with vocabulary focused on studying the reality of the population characteristics in the two cities, to find out the extent of interdependence between the service concerned with the study and the population concentrations in the study area, then it worked on analyzing the reality of the spatial distribution of civil defense services and their characteristics, and addressed the issue of the efficiency of these services using geographic information systems.

The study concluded that there is a quantitative efficiency in the civil defense services in the cities of Al-Rumaitha and Al-Khader when applying the criterion of the scope of the service's impact.

However, the spatial signature of the civil defense services is tainted by a defect, as it is noted that there is an overlap in the areas of service impact of the civil defense centers in the two cities with the presence of other areas located outside scope of influence.
