The study aims to shed light on the Treaty of Mecca in 1926, which was held between Saudi Arabia and Yemen, as Britain sought to conclude this treaty to consolidate its control and influence on the parties to the treaty in the service of its interests and strategic objectives.

The Mecca Treaty is a sanctification of the Sykes-Picot Agreement of 1916 and the goals it included in the fragmentation and division of some Arab countries in order to increase their influence and maintain their control through their support for the Saudi regime in Najd and Hijaz and the exploitation of internal and external conditions, especially the conflict over the political borders of Asir and Najran, which remained unresolved.
