Abstract EN

This study examines the economic effects of international migration on the mountain villages in Palestine.

it is based on a case study of four villages northeast of Ramallah, three of which migration continues to expand steadily, and the fourth has not witnessed a significant migration expansion as in the other three villages, despite its location in the same area.

the study relied on a mixture of qualitative and quantitative research methods through extensive field work in the surveyed villages and in the united states of America.

qualitatively, the study was based on the oral history approach through individual and group interviews with residents and migrants from these villages and interviews with official and local institutions.

Quantitatively, the study was based on an analysis of the available official and unofficial statistical data, in addition to a survey of economic establishments in the village of al-Mazraa al-Sharqiah, which was carried out specifically for the purposes of this study.
