In this research, we dealt with the criteria for distinguishing between legal and political conflict in accordance with the rules of public international law, given the importance of this distinction and the consequences and procedures it entails, and to determine the competent authorities to settle the dispute through three sections, the first topic was devoted to the nature of international conflict in language, convention, international conventions and a statement of the types of conflict, while the second topic was devoted to criteria for distinguishing between legal and political conflict in international jurisprudence through three demands the first requirement is the personal criterion, and the second requirement is the objective criterion.

as for the third requirement, it deals with the criterion based on the importance of the dispute, while the third topic is devoted to clarifying standards of excellence in international agreements and includes three demands the third relates to the implications of the distinction between political and legal conflict.
