Abstract EN

The aim of the research is to identify the cognitive dependence of postgraduate students.

the current research is determined by studying a variable (cognitive dependence) among an important segment of graduate students / masters-and doctoral studies / in all faculties of the university of Qadisiyah for the academic year (2021-2022), and the research method was adopted the sample size was (400) male and female students from the faculties of the university of al-Qadisiyah were chosen randomly.

the researchers built a cognitive dependence scale tool to achieve the objectives of the research, which in its final form consisted of (45) items, and the items were distributed on three areas according to the theory (Cattell, 1965), the apparent validity and construction validity of the scale were verified, and the strength of the paragraphs was calculated, as well as calculating the value of the reliability coefficient of the scale using Cronbach's alpha coefficient, whose value was ().

statistical analysis and processing of the data using Microsoft excel and the statistical portfolio for social sciences (SPSS) program, and the following results were reached : studies students have cognitive dependence within the middle limit, in favor of males, and that there are statistically significant differences there are no statistically significant differences in the cognitive dependence of graduate students according to the variables of specialization (scientific, human) and stage (masters-PHD).

), and based on the results that have been reached, the researchers made a number of recommendations.
