Abstract EN

Crisis management is one of the most important functions assigned to the public relations departments in all institutions of various types, including the university institution.

and in this study we will try to search for the role of the prosecution of the alternative public relations in the management of crises that faced various universities of eastern Algeria, estimated at twenty-two universities, we will search this role, whether before, during or even after the crisis.

the study relied on the descriptive analytical method as the most appropriate method, which allows us to convert the data to a quantifiable quantitative formula.

the study was also used data collection and questionnaire, which was distributed to all affiants of the directorate of external relations, beside the interview as a second tool, which was conducted with nineteen directors out twenty-two university principals.

the most important finding was the ineffectiveness of the role of public relations management in the management of crises facing the university institution; this issue was not among its priorities.
