This study deals with the phenomenon of intertextuality as a central mechanism in the contemporary Arab novel, a phenomenon that enriches the literary text with a sacred fabric that stands in the background behind the novelistic text.

this study seeks to trace the phenomenon of intertextuality with the Holy Qur’an in particular, in the contemporary Arabic novel in general, and in the novel production of the Egyptian writer “Ashraf Al-Khamaisi” in particular.
