Abstract EN

The current research aims to know : (the effect of the picture reading strategy on the achievement of the social subject for the second intermediate grade students), and the researcher adopted the experimental method as it is the appropriate method for the research procedures, and the research community consisted of middle schools in Babil governorate / Hashemiyah district.

the research sample amounted to (55) students and the experiment was applied in it to my first group, an experimental group that studied using the picture reading strategy, and the control group studied in the usual way.

the first course of the academic year (2020-2021 ad), which affected the impact of the experiment, and the researcher took the achievement test as a research tool, and the results showed that the two groups are statistically equivalent.

discrimination, efficacy of alternatives, split-half method, Kewder-Richardson equation 20 and after analyzing the results statistically the results showed that the students of the experimental group excelled in the achievement test, that is, there was a statistically significant difference at the significance level (0.05) in favor of the experimental group.

in light of the research results, the researcher reached a set of conclusions, recommendations and suggestions.
