Preventing and combating terrorist financing : local and international initiatives

Morocco, in conjunction with other nations around the world are joining hands in combating terrorism and violent groups financing since it is one of the most important global and domestic security threats facing the international community.

In addition, terrorist organizations are deriving their power mostly from their sources of financing.

To combat this phenomena and cut it from its roots, new set of obligations of legislative nature are geared towards criminalizing and pursuing all forms of support and financing provided to terrorists.

In this regard, many banking authorities began tracking and seizing assets and deposits of organizations and entities linked to terrorist groups or individuals financing terrorist operations.
