The concept of power in international relations is a thorny concept that controls the analysis of those relations, and some have even gone further, and considered international relations to be based on power.

States seek to acquire, maintain or increase their strength, but this narrow limitation of international relations in the concept of power has not been well received by many, who consider this approach in analysis to be biased and unfair.

States are rational and do not seek only power.

Rather, it is pursuing many other methods of constructive engagement within the international community, to try to build a stable international order that will be carried out in cooperation rather than conflict, and this proposition has begun to emerge increasingly, especially after the end of the cold war, and the transformation of the international system, to show that there are other concepts of force that have contributed in one way or another to the expansion of this concept and to try to remove it from its narrow form of decades, which relates to military force, so that the many transformations that the world has witnessed have produced other areas and other types of power.
