Abstract EN

This research is focuses on tracing the manifestations of Break (Waqf) in the dialects of a native Arab region, which is ‘Asir, and it seeks to uncover the similarities between those manifestations in it and the more eloquent renditions, as seen in the correct Qur’anic readings.

And it relied on both descriptive and comparative methodologies and concluded that most manifestations of Break that the early observers monitored are audible in the environments of the ‘Asir region, and that most of these manifestations have proofs from the correct Qur’anic readings.

The research recommends for those working in linguistic studies and the concerned bodies to monitor the dialectal phenomena in the environments of the Arabian Peninsula, and to study them at the phonemic, morphological, syntactic, and semantic levels.
