Abstract EN

The Nigerian Arabic literary writers have become prominent members of the society and they contribute positively to the development of the society by condemning some bad characters and behavious in the society through their literary writings.

this research aimed to investigate some contemporary social issues that were addressed in Nigerian Arabic plays, to know the relevancy of these literary writers in the society.

the researcher used descriptive approach to complete this study, where many social events were explained and described accurately.

the results of the research revealed that, the contemporary social issues that were discussed in these plays are related directly to what is actually happening in Nigeria presently, such as academic corruptions, insecurity, inequality, inadequate unity, sentiments, salaries of workers and retirees, hardship and hunger, and watching of football among others.

lastly, the researcher has suggested various ways to overcome these social challenges so that Nigeria can have a peaceful society.
