Abstract EN

In this article (study) we will try to reveal and clarify the attitude of the French Algerian elite (formed by the French school) towards the question of the naturalization of Algerians and the granting of French nationality.

this last, which has become one of the major questions, where the French-speaking elite seized all its newspapers and published articles on the question, as was asked in their demands, which caused a divergence in the attitude of this elite towards related laws.

these laws issued by the colonial administration, such as the senatus consulte 1865, or the reforms of February 4, 1919, known as the Jonnart reforms 1919, and also the Maurice Violette project, known as the Blum-Violette project.

all of this made the question of naturalization of Algerians one of the questions that caused more debate among the French Algerian elite from 1900 to 1930.
