The popular poetry-the Malhoun-in Algeria is one of the most important sources that researchers turned to as a document employed by poets of this color to preserve historical memory, and through which events were recorded in a local vernacular language.

this poem is one of the salty poetry that dates the liberation of Oran from the Spanish occupation in the year 1119 AH / 1708 AD during the reign of my father, Muhammad Bakdash, by an unknown poet whose name and lineage was mentioned by Sheikh Abdal-Rahman al-Jami al-Fassi in his explanation of Argouzah Ahmad al-Halfawi al-Telmisani and described it as “Arabism of al-Malhoun”.
