Abstract EN

This study aimed to identify the contribution of renewable energy to creating job opportunities, while clarifying the reality and prospects for that for the Arab countries.

the study relied on the descriptive analytical method and also on the statistics and forecasts of the international renewable energy agency (Irena) until 2030.

the study concluded that reliance on renewable energy can contribute to increasing the number of jobs available, and it can also compensate for unemployment that may result from replacing fossil fuels by renewable energy.

as for the Arab countries, it has become clear that renewable energy occupies 10% of the total energy sector jobs in 2017, with the largest share of energy hydroelectricity, and this percentage could rise to more than 15% in 2030, but bio-energy will occupy the first place, followed by solar energy.
