Abstract EN

The objective of this study was to determine the major motives that affect the choice of undergraduates between Islamic banking and traditional banking, this study came in the midst of transformations in the Algerian banking system by introducing new concepts as the case of Islamic banking.

in order to achieve this goal, a questionnaire was distributed to a sample of students of economic, social and management sciences.

the results of the study revealed that the majority of students prefer Islamic banking over traditional banking for religious motives, and also, most of conventional banks employees want to switch to Islamic banking for religious motives as well.
