The emergence of Fatimid in al-Maghreb (Morocco) was not a surprise to the Abbasid political regime in its presence in Baghdad.

rather, it was expected due to the large number of actions undertaken by Abbasids against al-Alawyeen including exile and expulsion to the outskirts of the Abbasid state, especially in the mountainous areas.

the Fatimids used many of the tribes that inhabiting those neighboring areas to establish their state in al-Maghreb and then move to Egypt to be more near to the Abbasids in Baghdad.

moreover, the Fatimids used many of the tribes in Egypt to establish their state in that country.
