The citizenship education, social studies, history, democracy and human rights have been considered one of the most influential cornerstones for promoting, enhancing patriotism and national identity in all societies.
while a full discussion of these crucial topics lies beyond the scope of this study, this study set out to test qualitatively the hypothesis that assume the national curriculum in post-authoritarian regime play a significant role in promoting the democratic citizenship, democracy and human rights.
this study has found that generally the process of rebuild national curriculum has been heavily politicized by the incumbent not only after the American invasion and occupation of Iraq in 2003 but also during the course of Iraqi history.
thus, there is an urgent need to reform those curriculum professionally to participate actively in building and consolidating political stability and welfare state.
