Abstract EN

The current research aims to identify the level of distracted thinking among distinguished students, and the level of visual selective attention among distinguished students.

the research is from the distinguished students present in the center of the Hilla district of the general directorate of education in Babylon governorate for the academic year (2020-2021), and their number is (623) distinguished students and distributed by (339) male and (284) female students.

the number of (150) distinguished students, with (75) distinguished students and (75) distinguished students, to represent the basic research sample.

to measure distracted thinking and selective visual attention, the researcher prepared a thinking scale that consisted of (32) items, and the psychometric properties were extracted from its validity and reliability.

the correct answer is given a degree and the incorrect answer is zero, and the psychometric properties were extracted from its validity and reliability.

after collecting the data and processing it statistically using the appropriate statistical methods, the researcher reached a number of results, the most prominent of which are: the distinguished students (males - females) do not have distracted thinking, they enjoy selective visual attention, and the distracted thinking is related to visual selective attention among the distinguished students, a clear and tangible connection with the negative trend.

in light of these results, a number of recommendations and proposals were developed.
