The research focus is on environmental sustainability in the metal jewelry industry.

It is one of the global industries that consume precious environmental resources, that are difficult to renew.

It also consumes huge energy in mining and manufacturing, causing environmental and human risks.

The research identified the most important challenges of the jewelry industry in two aspects: the mining process and the manufacturing process.

We can achieve environmental sustainability by applying some important considerations in the production of metal jewelry.

Those include the establishment of an ethical manufacturing chain, metal recycling, the development of the concept of smart design and the use of alternative materials in design and manufacturing.

The research also sheds light on the most important ancient techniques of metal jewelry to apply them for reducing environmental pollution resulting from manufacturing chemicals while using current manufacturing equipment.

A range of sustainable metal ornaments was also presented.

The research concluded that it is possible to find design considerations that contribute to achieving environmental sustainability in metal jewelry that are related to social awareness, manufacturing and design.

We can replace metals with alternative materials that achieve environmental sustainability, and shorten the manufacturing and recycling steps.
