Abstract EN

This study investigates (adverb) in Abdel-Hamid al-Katib’s letter to the crown prince, on syntactic and sematic level, so as to reveal its syntactic and semantic function, both in its morphological form and in its relationship with its owner, correlated with the context that helps creating a specific perception of the body or the situation at the time of its occurring which achieves the purpose of the instructive verb.

to this end, the study conducts its objective within the framework of the descriptive approach.

however, the study is composed of an introduction and three parts.

the introduction presents Abdel-Hamid al-Katib’ and the opinions of critics on his creativity.

the first part addresses the adverb-correlated factor in Abdul Hamid's letters through the opinions of critics about the prevalence of this phenomena, and whether or not it is available in all his letters.

as for the other two parts - which are the subject matter of this study-the researcher addressed in the first part the descriptions of the adverb and its implications, while in the other part, the researcher tackled the syntactic and semantic function of the adverb in its correlation with its owner.

moreover, the study focused on the effect of the adverb in directing the action and the adverb owner towards a certain body, and a specific meaning.

eventfully, it has been found that the adverb in this letter was widely spread more than any other speech-parts, and the crown prince shared most of it as its exclusive owner, which means that the adverb in this letter tried as an effective linguistic tool to depict the leadership image of the crown prince in his various conditions.
