Abstract EN

The investmentplays a prominent role in the economic development and to prepare an investment climate that can attract or expel foreign and domestic investments in Iraq and in the Kurdistan Region like other developing countries, to provide financing for production and service projects in order to expand production and service base, and related opportunities to increase productivity and raise the value-added rate and absorb unemployment and increasing income, taking into account that the achievement of those objectives linked to the availability of economic, political and legal elements, social and security so that Iraq and the Region enter the international competition in order to attract foreign direct investments, including, in particular, and based on that set the goal of research to see the reality of the investment environment in terms of invested capital and distributed to the economic sectors and provinces of the Region for the period between 8.1.2006 to 05.12.2015, to study the factors that attract or expulse investment.

This study relies on a descriptive analytical comparative method to the reality of the encouraging factors for the climate of domestic and foreign investment in Kurdistan-Iraq region and the most important obstacles applied in practice and future prospects to reach the goal of the research based on data, information, research and studies available in the Investment Authority, and the search leading to a set of conclusions and proposals.
