Abstract EN

The study sought to identify the most important indicators and measures that contribute to achieving social sustainability in urban centers, and to present a proposed vision for the application of social sustainability mechanisms in the governorates and major Saudi cities in order to contribute to strengthening the social cohesion and constructive interaction between their population components and raising the quality of life in those cities in light of the Kingdom's vision 2030, the Quality of Life Program 2020, and based on urban social sustainability indicators and the global principle "city for all." The study developed a set of proposed strategic priorities that could contribute to achieving the concept of social sustainability in Jeddah as a model applicable in other major cities and governorates in the Kingdom, as follows: meeting the basic needs of the population, paying attention to cultural diversity, and supporting integration and cohesion processes.

Social welfare, enhancing the quality of life within residential neighborhoods, developing means of transportation and transportation within the urban space, protecting society and combating crime.
