Abstract EN

The study aims to identify the reality of the participation and integration of visually impaired students in cultural and social activities in schools.

the researcher used the descriptive-analytical approach and a questionnaire, which was prepared by him.

the study found that the perception of the participation of visually impaired high school students in extracurricular activities in the schools of Jerusalem governorate was moderate, with a rate of 60%.

the study found that visually impaired male students have more awareness of extracurricular activities than female students.

besides, the tenth-grade students have a greater awareness of extracurricular activities than other grades.

the study also found that the students who have lower GPAS are more interested in extracurricular activities than those with higher GPAS.

the study recommended the need to enhance the level of participation of visually impaired students in public and private activities in schools, as it helps in raising the students’ social communication and collective participation levels.

also, there is a need that the school administration gives more attention to involve visually impaired students in the school activities to a great extent, hence, they would be practicing their basic rights as their colleagues, as well as, training the visually impaired students to practice sporting activities, as they are the best for them.
