Abstract EN

This study aimed at identifying the psychological, personal, social, economic and technological factors leading to the delay marriage age in the Jordanian society from the perspective of the single youth in al-Karak as well as revealing whether there are statistically significant differences regarding factors leading to the delay marriage age in the Jordanian society due to the different demographic characteristics.

in order to achieve the study objectives, the researcher used the analytic descriptive survey approach for the sample and the questionnaire was used as the primary instrument for data collection.

due to the specificity of this study, a randomized, random sample of 354 unmarried respondents whose age ranges between 18-45 years old from the Jordanian families was chosen in al-Karak.

the data were analyzed using the descriptive statistical methods , t-test for independent samples , one-way analysis of variance, as well as the test of the least significant differences in order to perform the post comparisons.

the study results showed that the issue of the late age of marriage is attributed to four main factors, that are ordered according to their importance, as : the economic factors, where the means of respondents 'responses towards these factors at a high level.

as for the technological factors, the means of respondents 'responses towards these factors at a high level .the means of respondents 'responses towards the social and cultural factors at a high level.

finally, the means of respondents 'responses towards the psychological and personal factors, with a medium level.

based on the study results, the study recommended about a number of recommendations, including : raising the awareness and activating it among the single youth and community institutions regarding the importance of marriage.
