Abstract EN

Allah, the almighty, has made ‘Eed licit for his worshippers so as to express their pleasure and happiness and to reflect the blessings and mercies that Allah granted them in addition to praising him for the favor he awarded them.

those‘eed days are times of worshipping, thanksgiving as well as having fun and pleasure.

in these days, the permissible legal acts are performed freely and the blessings of this world and the hereafter are also awarded.

according to the hadiths of the messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, he incited putting on the best clothes, well-dressed and well perfumed in the day of ‘Eed in addition to manifesting pleasure, happiness, having fun and chanting according to the legal regulations.

the prophet’s companions, may Allah be pleased on them, have assured the preference of being washed up, congratulating each other and being generous towards one’s children.

the prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, has informed us that there two ‘Eeds for Muslims, alfitr (the festival of fast-breaking) and Aladhha (the festival of sacrifice).

the prophet has also directed his Ummah (nation) to perform ‘Eed prayer through performing two units (Raka’at).

it was proved that the prophet pbuh has left to the prayer site and performed these two units without azan (calling) or Iqamah and he never performs praying Sunnah before or after them.

he also preferred women attending ‘Eed prayer.

moreover, the prophet has directed for delivering ‘Eed speech (Khutbah) which were, according to some sayings, performed while standing and so did the caliphs after him.

it is also narrated that he inaugurated his speech by Takbeer (saying Allah the greatest).

the prophet has also made it permissible for attendants to leave before the completion of Khutbah in addition to delivering a special Khutbah for women after the completion of men’s one.
