Abstract EN

This research deals with the poem of the Sudanese poet Faraj al-Tayyib al-Sarraj (1933-1998) tagged (An Arab vision on the banks of the Mesopotamia) in two respects, the first being the critical opinions contained in the poem and the second being the rhetorical methods used to highlight these views.

The research came in an introduction and two papers, and the research concluded that the poet has devoted a large portion of his poem to the attack on modernity poetry, which the poet saw in it a monstrosity unworthy of Arabic fluency.

What the research found is that the poet has exploited rhetorical methods and graphic tools to construct images that repel this type of literature and that he has waged a battle of influence and manipulation of the emotions of his listeners
