Abstract EN

This study aimed to determine the intended meaning of the concept of building the school's value system, and to identify the most prominent global models for the role of school leaders in building the value system, and also to conclude the determinants and dimensions of the leader's role in building the value system by benefiting from global models, and finally arriving at the requirements of school leaders to activate their role in building the value system.

The descriptive analytical approach was used, based on analyzing the data extracted from books, research, and websites to answer the questions of the study.

The study concluded a number of results, the most important of which are: Building the school values system is to agree on a system of values and beliefs of importance and priority to the school’s reality and conditions, and then work to take all organizational measures to consolidate and deepen them, the Six of the global models in building the value system were presented , and the most prominent things of the selected models was: they clarified the influences and relationships between the personality of the leader and his values, practices ،and school culture and values of the school, also they highlighted the most important components and dimensions in building the values of the school.

The most prominent requirements for activating the role of leaders in building and promoting the values system were the following: “educating leaders and introducing them to the process of building values through courses and meetings”, “adding the value criterion in controls of selecting school leaders”, “reducing centralization when supervising the school and granting it independence”.

Based on its results, the study made a number of recommendations.
