This study seeks to reveal the extent that the political transition in Egypt has led to the dismantling of the military and security services’ dominance of the political process in Egypt ten years after January Revolution.

It adopts a methodological approach that stems from the literature of civil-military relations during the stages of democratic transition.

It also analyses the dimensions of the central dichotomies that have taken place in the past ten years, including the dichotomies of revolution and coup and the military and the Muslim Brotherhood, and the effect of these dichotomies on the transformations and implications of the revolution.
