This study examines the role of social media websites and their impact on the street’s movement during and ten years after the Arab Spring revolutions.

The findings show, through an opinion poll sample of respondents from north Syria, the decline of the role of social media platforms in the street’s movement and mobilization.

This is because Arab regimes, who had been absent from the platforms, have formed “electronic armies” and were able through financial and authoritarian means and international relations to restrict social media by closing down the accounts and pages related to the revolutions.
