Abstract EN

This research paper tried to identify the Faculty of Education-Yafea students' level of critical thinking.

A random sampling technique was used.

The sample of the study is (87) students of the fourth level students in the academic year 2019/2020.

The data was collected by using California 2000 test.

Out of the (87) test sheets, (67) test sheets were analyzed and the remaining (20) were removed because of incompleteness.

A pilot study was used on (25) students.

Validity and reliability were checked by referring the test items by a group of experts in the field.

Based on the analysis of the results, the study found the following: 1-The evaluation skill came in the first place with an average means (3.02) and standard deviation (0.509) followed by analysis (second) and analysis (third place) stability (fourth) and the in fifth place came the inference skill with an average means (2.90) and standard deviation (0.511) 2-There are no statistically significant differences at a level of (0.05) is attributed to gender in all the skills (evaluation, analysis, stability and inference) 3-There are statistically significant differences at a level of (0.05) in (inference) for female students.

4-There are statistically significant differences at a level of (0.05) in (specialization) for biology/chemistry specializations.

Based on the findings of the study, the following is recommended: Paying attention to the mental abilities of the students and developing these abilities, formulating a test that measures such abilities when students pass from one level to the next and including critical thinking in the syllabus.
