this study discusses the relationship of the media to the production and reproduction of postcolonial discourses about the migration of Africans to Eu- rope.

The study aims to examine the news discourses produced by the Western me- dia when addressing the problems of African migrants trying to reach European countries by sea.

The study raises two basic questions: What is the extent of the sufficiency of historical and contextual information provided by the Western media about the real reasons that motivate African immigrants to risk their lives to migrate African immigrants being fairly represented in the news sources ?،٢،، to Europe, and that talk about them?
