Abstract EN

This research traces the historical development of the emergence of the refugee-warrior phenomenon.

it also investigates the previous relevant studies that dealt with the theoretical framework, research methodologies, characteristics of the refugee-warrior groups, and basic concepts to understand these phenomenon’s core definitions.

this research uses the case study and the system study as the basic methodological approaches for understanding the inputs and outputs of the refugee-warriors phenomenon, focusing on relevant interactions and security as essential requirements.

this led to a deep understanding of the nature of this phenomenon, the causes of its emergence, relations, the international system reactions, and all approaches that tried to understand it.

this research reviews the refugee-warrior groups position in the structure of both regional and international regimes and the relevant contradictions arising from tribal conventions against the states and the refugee system.

the presence of these groups forces a reconsideration of the relationship between the international refugee system and the humanitarian protection and intervention.

the research aims at solving conflicts arising from the existence of regional and international organizational structure, humanitarian aid system, refugee system, the political system of the refugee-hosting country and the tribal system in one place, and the effects of these components on the refugee-warrior phenomenon and its consequences especially the hosting country and the voluntary and humanitarian organizations on the other.

it also aims at dealing with the international reaction against refugeewarriors’ activities and their influence over direct regional conflicts, logistic and military support, and the internal conflict between these refugee-warrior groups.

the research concludes by shedding light on signs marking the end of the refugee-warrior phenomenon, integrating the returned refugees and this process’s effects on peace charts.
