English Abstract

The aim of the study: Identifying the impact of the probing and divergent questions on the developing of the critical thinking skills on the Islamic Education course among eighth graders in Gaza.

The method of the study: The researcher adopted the descriptive analytical and the experimental method The sample of the study: The sample consists of (107) female eighth students, it is divided into three groups : the first experimental group (35) , the second experimental group (35) and the control group (36).

The tool for the study: Test Critical Thinking skills.

Results: There was a significant difference (@<0.05) between means of scores obtained by students of the second experimental and the control groups favoring the second experimental group in the post test of the Mathematical thinking skills.

Recommendations of the study: 1-The study recommends teachers for diversification in using strategies and educational models such as probing and divergent questions in developing critical thinking.

2-Attention paid to teaching thinking skills in general, the critical thinking especially.
