Abstract EN

The study aimed to identify the level of motivation to learn among students of the second year of secondary school, in addition to revealing the differences in motivation to learn according to the variables of gender and specialty.

the study sample consisted of 92 male and female students who were chosen in a simple random way for the academic year 2020 / 2021 from second year of secondary school students at Hamidi Aissa secondary in the city of Ouled Derradj-M'sila.

to achieve the two objectives of the study, the learning motivation scale was used (ELKOTAMI, 2000).

the researchers relied on the descriptive approach that is appropriate to the study, and after statistical treatment through the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (25spss) program, the following results were reached : -the level of motivation to learn among students of the second year of secondary school was high.

-there are statistically significant differences between the average scores of the study sample members on the learning motivation scale due to the gender variable (males / females) in favor of males.

-there are no statistically significant differences in the motivation to learn among students of the second year of secondary school, which are attributed to the variable of specialty (scientific / literary).
