Iraq is a strategically significant state due to several factors, the most important of which is its strategic position, oil wealth, and human resources, and ancient civilization.

in the past, Iraq has played a major regional role, but the American invasionharmed country's position, a situation that led the country to be a sphere of Iranian influence.

this study argues that Iran is the biggest beneficiary of the occupation of Iraq and the most powerful regional actor in it.

the study argues that Iraq's active return to the regional arena depends on country's ability to attain complete sovereignty over its territories, political decisions and to get rid of Tehran's interventions in its affairs.
