Abstract EN

This article aims to get to know the effect of social media in promoting the Saudi citizen’s values of good citizenship towards his society.

it also aims to reveal the positive and negative effects, resulting from using these means and to know the relation between culture and the values of citizenship and identity, and the efforts of Saudi Arabia and its experience in promoting these values.

Saudi Arabia provides its citizens with the values of good citizenship due to its understanding of their rights and duties.

the study concludes with a number of findings including: the reasons of using social media include easiness of expressing their opinions and attitudes.

they also can transfer everything that enhances preservation and bonds of the society, and their understanding of the multiculturalism and freedom of expression to enhance the values of good citizenship that the society strives to reach.

therefore, the study provides a number of recommendations including: enhancing the values of digital citizenship in the Saudi 2030 vision, which is considered a fertile field the society seeks to achieve, exploiting the social media to disseminate awareness of these values and developing them in the Saudi citizens, resulting in a citizen who understands his role in his life as well as his society.
