English Abstract

This study aimed to the level of organizational confidence of secondary schools’ principals in the southern governorates of Palestine, and to determine the level of innovative behavior among secondary school teachers in the southern governorates of Palestine from their point of view.

To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the descriptive analytical method, and the study tool included a questionnaire that was divided into two parts.

The first section measures organizational trust, and it includes (33) items, which measure three areas (trust in the school principal, trust in supervisors, and trust in colleagues), and the second part relates to innovative behavior and includes (38) items that measure four areas (ability to present new ideas, the ability to provide innovative solutions to problems, the ability to change, the ability to take risks).

The study population consisted of all male and female teachers in secondary schools in the southern governorates of Palestine, whose number is (4,719) male and female teachers, and the study sample involved (380) male and female teachers based on the rule of calculating the sample size, that is at a rate of (8.1%).

The results of the study show that the overall degree of organizational trust and innovative behavior reached a large level.

There were no statistically significant differences at (α≥ 0.05) between the average estimates of secondary school teachers due to the variables of gender, academic qualification and years of service.

There is a positive relationship of statistical significance at (α≥ 0.05) between the level of organizational trust and innovative behavior.

The researcher made a number of recommendations, the most important of which is the need for senior management in educational institutions to enhance the level of organizational trust among employees in order to achieve the desire for teamwork and to support the level of innovative behavior.
