English Abstract

This study aims at verifying the presence of a relation between the primary stage principals’ degree of practicing leadership empowerment of their teachers and the level of efficiency of their classroom control in the light of some classification variables: (gender, years of service, scientific qualification, academic specialization).

The researcher used the descriptive approach and its analytical domain.

The sample of the study was a stratified random sample that consisted of (269) male and female teachers of the primary government schools, representing a (13.64%) of the study population.

The study tool used to collect data was a questionnaire for leadership empowerment and another one for the efficiency of class control.

Both were prepared by the researcher.

The most important findings of the study : 1.

The overall degree of primary stage principals’ practice of leadership empowerment of their teachers from the point of view of the teachers themselves had a relative weight of (76.99%) which is considered a high percentage.

The order of the relative weight of dimensions of the questionnaire as sequenced from the top down according to their relative weights were as follows: [independence variable (81.63%), ، developing skills and training for innovative performance (81.39%), delegation of authority (76.36%), and finally decision-making (67.75 %)].

There are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α≤0.05) between mean scores of the study sample of the primary stage principals’ practice of leadership empowerment of their teachers for decision-making and development skills and training for the innovative performance of their teachers attributable to the gender variable, while differences were found in the degree primary stage principals’ delegation of authority, and independence and leadership empowerment as a whole of their teachers attributable to the gender variable, and the differences were in favor of male teachers.

There are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α≤0.05) between the mean scores the study sample of the degree of governmental schools’ principals’ practice of leadership empowerment of their teachers attributable to the variables: (years of service, educational qualification, academic specialization).

The most important recommendations of the study: 1- Involving teachers in the parents ’councils, especially to support decision-making related to the school and the local community.

2- Holding more training courses to school principals and their teachers on how to employ the latest developments in the educational field.

3- Adopting delegation as a leadership style approved by the school administration for teachers, in order to involve everyone in managing the educational process.
