Abstract EN

The present topic covers the linguistic situation in the Algerian society during the different historical periods that knew a linguistic diversity, because of many external arrivals, such as migrations, conquests, or colonialism ; etc … during each period, a new linguistic situation or reality appears in society.

then we talked over the linguistic situation in Algeria before Islam, we also clarified the functional link between the Islamic religion and the Arabic language in Algeria, likewise, the role that French colonialism played to Gallicise the society.

finally, we tackled the current linguistic reality in Algerian society which showed several languages (Arabic, Berber, French) in which many linguistic practices interact and varies in its location and spread from one place to another.
