The Algerian comic strip has known several stages and milestones from colonization to the present day.

What is remarkable in these drawings is the humorous quality that can be seen through the graphics, the illustrations, the characters that reflect the social reality and the cultural and language specificities.

In these drawings, several linguistic codes have caught our attention, the cartoonists resort to the play of words, to different registers of languages, use a language to arouse the reader’s imagination through humour.

All these specificities testify to the richness of this field in terms of language contact.

It is precisely the very essence of our contribution that aims to study the presence of languages other than French in Slim’s comic strip ‘BAD NEWS’ published in the Algerian French-language daily ‘Le soir d’Algérie’.

We will analyze the use of borrowing from the standard Arabic and Algerian language and understand its usefulness.

La bande dessinée algérienne a connu plusieurs étapes et jalons depuis la colonisation jusqu'à nos jours.

Ce qui est remarquable dans ces dessins, c'est la qualité humoristique que l'on repère à travers les graphies, les personnages qui reflètent la réalité sociale et les spécificités tant culturelles que langagières.

Plusieurs codes linguistiques ont attiré notre attention, les bédéistes ont recours, au jeu de mot, à différents registres de langues, se servent d'une langue pour susciter l'imaginaire du lecteur par l'humour.

Toutes ces spécificités témoignent de la richesse de ce domaine en matière de contact de langue.

C'est justement le vif de notre contribution qui vise à étudier la présence des langues autres que le français dans la bande dessinée ''BAD NEWS '' de Slim, publiée dans le quotidien francophone algérien ''le soir d'Algérie''.

Nous allons analyser le recours aux emprunts à la langue arabe standard et algérien et d'en comprendre l'utilité.
