Recent decades have seen remarkable interest in the public according to the development of studies in the field of information and communication sciences, if the first studies focused on the image of the negative audience, modern schools changed this view and now defend the rights of the reader and turned the center of attention from author to reader, and this is what the theory of receiving called for.

But the development in information technology and communication has contributed significantly to the development of new innovations, studies since the 1980s have tended to focus on the importance of the technical dimension of the use of modern means of communication, which provided researchers with a new field that became known as the sociology of uses.

Based on this proposition, this research paper revolves around highlighting the importance of public studies and how they have moved from impact studies to receiving to the sociology of use.
