The world has seen a significant increase in the proportion of caesarean sections, where in the past the use of caesarean section was limited to cases of birth failure and labor difficulty, but today it is a very common procedure, to the extent that health authorities are concerned, according to who reports, and strangely many pregnant women request these operations when they are born in private clinics, to escape the pain of labor and birth pains, despite their future side effects on the health of the mother.

In recent years, Algeria has seen a marked increase in caesarean sections, which have exceeded the globally set rate, reaching 30 percent of Algerian pregnant women born by caesarean section, which is a very high rate.

"In this article, we would like to address the reality of caesarean sections in Algeria and the most important reasons for this rise based on the 2019 MICS database.
