Abstract EN

Manuscripts are one of the most important movable cultural property, allowing to reveal the past and history of nations.

They also represent the identity, character and authenticity of the state.

They contribute to achieving intellectual, scientific and cultural creativity of humanity.

However, they may be exposed to a number of attacks and practices that may threaten their existence and continuity, which necessitated the intervention of the Algerian legislator.

To approve a set of rules that ensure its preservation and protection.

On the international level, we find that international conventions played an important role in protecting manuscripts against all forms of infringement that might fall upon them.
