The need to protect intellectual production has emerged since antiquity, but the legal rooting for copyright protection is considered recent, as it began with the recognition of the protection of ideas, up to the issuance of legal texts related to copyright in Europe, and then spread to include the rest of the countries.

this topic aims to study the development of copyright at the historical and legislative levels, by reviewing the stages of copyright development across different civilizations, focusing on the stage of legal recognition of the protection of ideas, and then clarifying the role of each of the organizations, agreements and comparative legislation in dedicating the legal protection of copyright.
