Abstract EN

The study aims to know the role played by the agricultural sector in achieving economic growth in Algeria as a strategic alternative to develop the national non-hydrocarbons economy.

this can be reached by analyzing the reality of agriculture in Algeria for the period from 2015 to 2020, and by addressing the development of each of the plant production and livestock and follow-up the development of the agricultural sector’s contribution rates in some economic indicators such as the GDP, manpower, exports and imports.

the results of this study showed the diversity of agricultural production in Algeria, in both plant and animal, which contributes to a significant proportion of the GDP, and considered the agriculture sector among the most important sectors that provide job opportunities.
