Abstract EN

This study aims to identify the most important economic factors affecting demand deposit growth in Algeria during 1990- 2020, using the ARDL model.

So, we used demand deposit as a dependent variable and four independent variables, which are inflation rate, broad money supply, GDP per capita, and unemployment rate.

The results of the study showed that there is long-run cointegration between the study variables, and in the long-term demand deposit growth is affected negatively by inflation rate and unemployment rate, while the effect of broad money supply and GDP per capita is positive.

In the short -term, demand deposits growth is affected by the same variables, with different intensities of impact.
