Abstract EN

The study aimed to know the factors affecting the acceptance of merchants in the Western Mountain region to pay purchases with the bank card to address the problem of lack of liquidity and benefit from the advantages of using the bank card and get rid of the defects of using paper money.

The study was based on the analysis of five variables: (e-banking culture, the desire and conviction of merchants, conditions and laws, Shari'ah compliance, and the infrastructure).

The descriptive analytical method was followed by relying on a questionnaire tool was relied on to collect study data that was distributed to the study sample, which consisted of (60) individual merchants, and (50) questionnaires capable of analysis were retrieved, and the study concluded that all factors represented major reasons for merchants not accepting payment using the bank card.

As it became clear that is a weakness in the spread of the culture of electronic banking in the study area, and the weak desire of merchants to accept payment for the bank card due to their fear of mistakes in banking transaction and the occurrence of Shari'ah and legal violations, in addition to the weak infrastructure of the communications network.

The study recommended following recommendation, The most important of which are: taking into account the gradual application of the conditions for installing a POS machine, and that the Shari’ah conditions should be clear in application for the use of the card, and the need to improve the infrastructure of telecommunication network in the region.
