Environmental issues, as a common heritage of humanity, are among the most prominent issues that have gained and still a great deal of global attention in recent decades, both at the national and international levels.

this is because it is linked to various aspects of human life, and the great acceleration in civilizational development has led to the emergence of multiple environmental problems.

hence, these environmental challenges emerged as being of a global nature that transcend the geographical and political borders of countries.

as a result of the increasing pace of development that culminated in the second half of the twentieth century.

although the environment is able to get rid of some of these pollutants, the increase in the volume of pollution made it unable to do so, which affects the various dimensions of human security and human well-being.

this study provides a critical analysis of environmental challenges related to current global environmental policies and practices, and provides necessary evidence about current environmental strategies.
